Montessori education is often considered a constructivist approach. This consideration has implications when considering the place of Montessori education within the wider educational landscape. How we identify ourselves has implications on educational policy and advocacy.
This presentation will provide participants with
- an initial analysis of some of Maria Montessori’s written work
- historical information considering Dr. Montessori’s connections to and relationships with constructivism’s leading thinkers
- definitions and characteristics of constructivism,
